When someone betrays our trust, especially a spouse, who has vowed to “love, honor, and cherish” us, it is hard to overcome the pain and move on with our lives. Several saints went through this kind of suffering. God can use all our suffering in this life for good if we let Him. Instead of giving in to resentment, these saints let God use their pain for good. When someone hurts us, we can emulate these saints in many ways—although not to the point of staying in an abusive relationship!
Pray this novena for yourself—for your own suffering, whatever the
cause—and for those you care about who are suffering. You can mention their
names as you pray the prayers.
